Adam wanted to look around, outside of just the resort and his classes at the university. He had seen a brochure with a list of parks on the island and he picked one and headed in that direction. He decided to hope on his bike and go out. He hadn’t taken it out since he’d gotten their, and he could tell it was craving for a good ride, and he was happy to oblige. As he pumped his legs, he felt the wind rush by him, pushing him further and faster as passed person by person. Some in groups, some by themselves. He passed children playing, or reaching up to their parents. He passed couples; older couples who looked like they’d give advice; young couples, newly in love. He passed two pregnant women, waddling along, smiles on their faces, and a glow on their skin. He’d always heard pregnant women were supposed to “glow” but he’d never really noticed it until he saw the sun kiss their skin. He smiled as one of them gave a small shout of joy and felt her stomach as a little girl, he guessed was one of their daughters, yelled, “he’s kicking!”
Adam was learning to love the people and places of Hawaii. All the shapes and sizes amazed him, and he caught something new at every turn. As he neared the park, he began to slow down and soon hopped off, locking his bike to a nearby rack. He took in a deep breathe of air and sat down on some grass, wanting, as he had every minute he’d been here, to take it all in. He smiled as he watched the world go by. Soon, he noticed a group of people giving shouts of joy and laughter, and he looked a little closer and stood up as he realized what all the hustle and bustle was about. A young actress and fashionista was blessing the presence of Hawaii at that moment. He smiled to himself, but didn’t want to be in the way. He slowly made his way around the park and eventually settled on a bench nearby the little lady, watching as she greeted her loyal fans.
After a few minutes, Adam tried to scourge up the courage to go and talk to her. But, he didn’t want to seem like some over-eager fan, but it was like she had an addictive mien about her that seemed to be a magnet to the people, and he was no exception. He slowly stood up and began to walk over. He noticed she’d brought a bodyguard with her, and wanted to be respectful. He headed toward him and tapped on his shoulder. ”Um, sir? Would it be all right if I talked to the little lady?” Adam watched as fan after fan held out paper and pen and camera to the star…
