[ADAM ISAIAH BOGG]

Adam was out to take a morning job. The air felt great as he stepped outside and took in a deep breathe into his lungs. It felt great to be here, in Hawaii. He’d never been before; his grandparents and other family had always come to North Carolina to visit, instead. But it felt great to be here. The air was clean and fresh and every day was a new beginning, a fresh start, and he couldn’t wait to write on every blank page to fill up this new chapter in his life.

Adam slowly started forward, gradually gaining speed as he went along the boardwalk. Back home, he often had to settle for going around the neighborhood, and often plugged in his iPod in his ears. But, he loved to go down to the beach every chance he got, and never needed his iPod. Here, in Hawaii, he saw beach after beach, and he loved being able to leave his electronic back in his room and just listen to the sounds around him. He loved the waves crashing in one direction, muddled with the sounds of early rising children laughing. He passed booths opening up to the new day, and he smiled and waved in their direction.

Adam finally slowed down and stopped for a break. He wanted to take in every moment he could, so he leaned onto the rail and watched the ocean out beyond, waiting to see what he could see, as he breathed each breathe, he tried to take in everything around him. The wind on his skin, the morning sun, shining brightly. Probably going to get a tan real quick, he thought to himself. He chuckled to himself and watched as an older couple passed ahead of him on the beach, and as he noticed two little children in a kiddie pool, their mother and father looking on happily at a nearby pool. Oh, boy, Adam thought, Hawaii’s going to be amazing…
