Let me down, down, down, into the depths

Adam stepped into the changing room and quickly changed into his swim trunks and t-shirt. He was getting ready for his first day as one of the swimming instructors, and he was nervous. He had taught countless kids back home at camp and all his neighbor’s kids, but this was his first real job. He took a deep breathe and stepped out of the dressing room and walked over to a bench and sat down, waiting for his class to come in. He checked his new waterproof watch his mom had given him as a good luck/congratulations present and realized he’d given himself a bit too much time to get ready. He still had a good amount of time before the kids would trickle in, let alone start class.

Adam figured he might as well do something while he waited, so he quickly jumped into the water and began to swim to the other side. When he reached the end he stopped and rested for a second before heading back. When he reached back to his beginning point, he smiled to himself. He hadn’t gotten to get much swimming in the past few weeks, and it felt good to be back in the water. He took a deep breathe and headed under once again, enjoying the feeling of the cool liquid on his skin. When he rose above the surface, his face was glowing with energy and happiness.
